Welcome to Westwoodside Church of England Academy
Welcome to Westwoodside Church of England Academy. We are a busy and friendly Church of England school. Our school vision is based on enabling every child to shine out with their own strengths and abiliites. Our vision ' Be a light for other people' drives us to support everyone in our community to shine out, live out our values and succeed in all areas of learning.
We have a strong academic record which has placed us in the top 5% of schools nationally. This is as a result of high standards of teaching and learning by skilled staff. We have enriched our curriculum to making it meaningful, motivating and relevant to our children. This leads to high levels of engagement and progress.
We are very proud of our track record in promoting sport and physical activities in our school. We hold three School Games Marks at Gold Level and a Sport Promoting school award. We offer a wide variety of sports through high quality PE sessions and work with a large number of other groups to provide before and after school activity clubs.
We are a very inclusive school. We welcome all children and families. We have a skilled staff who can personalise learning to meet individual needs and have recently grown our expertise in the areas of mental health and well being. We are the first school in North Lincolnshire to introduce the Thrive approach to support children with social and emotional needs. Our ethos permeates our relationships with children and their families and we work hard to offer support to overcome any barriers.
This website will give you a taste of our school and provides updated information for parents, carers and pupils. We hope that you enjoy your visit and that you find the information you are looking for. Please contact us if you require help with your enquiries. Thank you for visiting.

We have been awarded 'An Achievement for All Quality Mark' which recognises the lengths all staff go to 'support every child to be the best they can be.' An achievement which reflects our desire for all children to reach the highest possible standards.
We have held fantastic concerts and plays at Christmas and Easter with all children speaking, acting, dancing or singing.
