Welcome to Westwoodside Church of England Academy

Welcome to Westwoodside Church of England Academy. We are a busy and friendly school. We pride ourselves on our strong community;  partnership working and our Church School ethos.

We have an exciting curriculum and provide lots of exciting opportunities for all our children to enjoy and achieve.  We are very proud of our achievements. We have a strong academic record and provide a wide range of sporting opportunities whilst at the same time ensuring we personalise learning to meet individual needs. Over the last three years we have grown our pastoral support and have become one of the first schools in North Lincolnshire to introduce the Thrive approach to support emotional health and well-being.

This website will give you a taste of our school and provide updated information for parents, carers and pupils.  We hope that you enjoy your visit and that you find the information you are looking for.  Please contact us if you require help with your enquiries.  Thank you for visiting.

In 2016-17 our results were in the top 5% of all primary schools nationally. Please see the required information section for more details.

Our 'Only One You' Project

What's been happening in our school?

Mr Cullen and the Rugby stars have been in action on our field. If you are in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2 come and join in on a Wednesday night!

Mr Chapman has kindly helped to set our beautiful stones in concrete. Year 5 and 6 learnt about ratios of cement to sand!

Two of our children are representing our school in a race on the finish line for the Tour of Yorkshire bike race.

Thank you 'Lions Clubs International'

Today Richard Baker (Isle of Axholme Lions Club President) visited school to present each class with brand new digital devices to support children to record their learning.

Digital cameras and other devices are used widely in school to capture learning e.g. recording practical work; supporting and motivating learners e.g. children write and record a presentation about the Romans. Digital devices also provide a record of experiences in school to share with parents and the wider community.

The children were delighted to receive the cameras and said, 'It will be lovely to have reliable devices to record our special moments in school.'

Thank you for supporting Harvest Festival

What a fantastic turnout to support the children as they led our Harvest Festival service today. A big thank you to Rev. Green, Mr Taylor and Mr Wilkinson who supported us to. Thank you to everyone who donated food for our local Isle of Axholme Food bank - every little contribution really does make a difference!

There is always something special happening at our school, have a look at our recent photographs to see what we do.
